Everybody here is going to say to use a TV, mainly because it more closely approximates a real arcade monitor, and is cheaper. I seem to be one of the only people around who advocates a PC monitor, if the price and size is right. I got lucky and bought a really good used 21" Mag Innovision for $200. It runs every emulator without hassle, every commercial game, and anything else at every resolution. And my Dreamcast is also in my cab with a VGA adaptor, and it's beautiful too. The only thing is that the picture is clear and sharp, something that an arcade monitor is not, so you have to settle on scanlines or other graphic enhancements if you're a purist. The tradeoff with a real arcade monitor (or TV) is convenience and flexibility.
