Well, consider going with a 100% true arcade monitor and a jpac. You have seemed to try everything, and what you want is what you want.

btw, if the sharper image monitor is like the EYGO monitor, it will look similar to a VGA monitor. IE, very square pixels (no rounded blurry pixels like tv and arcade monitor). Also the color depth is similar to VGA not arcade monitor or svid (look at the pictures always passed around with spyhunter compairing the close up)..... but, you will be able to play pc games on it without any troubles.

Quality I think goes like this.
1) true arcade monitor (and jpac so you don't blow it)... this includes the true arcade monitors with a VGA connector.
2) svid with a good TV out
3) grade B VGA monitors (27" that can only handle low resolutions)
4) real VGA monitor


they all have advantages and disadvantages.
