Ok, for those of you brave enough to try this ( I have on 2 systems and it worked fine, but if you blow up your computer, don't blame me!), here is some info:

The graphic shows the layout of an ATX power connector. If you short pin 14 ( the power on line, usually green) to ground, your system should power up automatically.

DO NOT APPLY POWER WITHOUT HOOKING UP YOUR MOTHERBOARD! There is a voltage sensing circuit in an ATX power supply that could go haywire without the proper load and it could burn out the supply! Since the supply would normally NEVER power up without it being hooked to a MB, this wouldn't be a problem, but since you just defeated that mechanism, it becomes an issue.

Anyway, hope this helps, and make sure you remove the power cord from the supply before doing anything.
