Well I did some research, looking at web sites, project pages, and this BBS... I ended up going with the Oscar spinner and the Betson 3" trackball (Betson trackballs used to be called Imperial I think.) "The best" is a relative and sketchy term, but I have heard great things about Oscar spinners and Imperial trackballs (do a search of the BBS.)

I guess you can't go wrong with one of the Happ's 3" trackballs either. Anyway both the spinner and the trackball are on their way, so I will give a mini-review when I get them working.
