I use a fixed frequency monitor in my cocktail cabinet, and have been very pleased with it. It is the Intergraph Intervue 20" model. (It is rather old, but it was cheap -- ~$85).

I was lucky because my monitor came with a 13W3 to VGA connector. I plugged it in and voila! Now, I have not been able to get any better than 600x480 resloution out of it -- but I have not tried real hard either because I do not run windows on the cabinet.

I use this setup with advancemame and a Trident Blade 3D video card.

: It's been several years, but my experience with Sun monitors is that they are fixed frequency. This really limits you on resolutions and refresh rates, but with the right video card and a bit of registry tweaking you might be able to get a compatable signal.

: Connect those sense wires correctly!
