: thanks,

: i looked around for the kidsball, but
: no one is selling it anymore. my experience?

: i dont actually need the trackball, but i need the electronics to use for another type of controller.

: i dont want to write any drivers or solder anything, (i have done this), but this has be done very simple. so using an arcade ball is probably to hard for me to change around.

: thnaks

mice are cheaper, then, and a trackball is just an upside down mouse. There are a lot more mice to try too.

Logitech USB mice are pretty easy to hack, if all you need is the electronics. The "first moust"/"pilot mouse" is usb and $10-$15. That's what's used in the OSCAR spinner. Don't know about Mac drivers, though.
