All PSX pads are basically the same. You solder to one of the button contacts and one to ground. You may want to stay away from the original pads as you will need to scrape off the black stuff first to get to the copper below. The best pad in my opinion to hack would have to be the cheapest one you can find. :-)

CD_Vision on this board has a pad hacking service if you look further down in the msgs. His design looks particularly sweet as he drills holes for the wires to go through one side (makes for a much stronger connection). I had to put gobs of silicon all over my pads to insure they don't accidentally break off while swapping consoles in and out of my cab.

: Hello new to this stuff and have been reading all the material i can. I have run several searches and looked through the web various times, but i cannot find an answer. Additionally, if someone has a web site with the solder points on this PSX pad or can help in any other way i would greatly appreciate it. Great web site by the way and i look forward to contructing my own arcade joystick very soon.
