You usually don't get win prot errors from trying to launch a program, but sometimes aos will crash itself when you try to laucnh it remotely like that... I have no clue why, I think aos doesn't use relative paths in it's code or something.

: Thanks for the info! I'll give that a try tonight. What was causing the problem?

: : I used to take a bat file and put in the startup folder...

: : it just had something like

: : start c:\arcade\arcadeos.exe

: : that should work but it's been many moons since i've used aos

: :
: : : Umm, uhh... ya.. I guess that won't work? What's the best way to get it to start up automatically? Should I just run it from the AUTOEXEC file?

: : : : I know this is a really dumb question, but you did put a shortcut to arcadeos in the startup and not the actual program didn't you.

: : : : : Hi Everyone!!
: : : : : I have a problem. I'm running a PC that has a pretty much empty hard drive except for Windows98, ArcadeOS, and MAME. I've put ArcadeOS in my StartUp folder so it will automatically start up, but when ArcadeOS starts the PC says "Windows Protection Error. You Must Reboot Your Computer".

: : : : : Any idea why it's doing this, or how I can fix it?
