Each button does only have 1 wire going to an input on the KE72. You can have more than 1 button going to an input without problem (like a Pause button for each player).
The wire from the KE72 input connects to the NO (Normally Open) tab on the switch. You also connect a wire from the ground on the KE72 to the COM (Common) tab on each switch. You can connect 1 ground to 1 button and then go from that button's common to the next button's common and so on.

: Sorry for the remedial question, but I'm hooking my control panel up to a KE-72. What I'm having trouble with is connecting the buttons to the encoder. Where do I run the ground for each switch? I thought each button only had one input that goes to the KE-72, but it looks like there are two? What am I missing.

: Thanks for helping out the Newbie.
