So I got it to runn... For anyone else with the problem, here's how I did it:

Install according to instuctions.

When it first starts up hit tab repeatedly until you can get into the config screen. (takes a few tries)

Set all your directories, ect... Then hit save. The program will try to scan roms, it'll fail to find them, and then it'll crash with a 380 error. That's okay...

Now run the program again and as it starts up hit 5 repeatedly until you can get it to start scanning for roms. (as with before it takes a few tries) when it's done it'll crash again.

But the next time you run it it will work! Ta-da!

The front end looks great... Only now, for some reason, I can't get the skinner aplication to install... I'll keep trying...

Thanks

: Most likey then your rom paths are invalid or there isn't any roms in the dir's you've given.....
: they should look like this...

: g:\roms\mame\

: the last slash must be there and the full path must be given... relative paths are not supported

: : did you upgrade to beta 3 B before applying the patch.... it's required.... also you must start off with a fresh config file...(the one in 3b will do fine)

: : This patch seemed to fix everyone elses probs, so I'm not sure what it could be.... one of them is running 98 se too, so that's not the prob

: : : Still getting the exact same 380 error... No matter what I try, I can't seem to get rid of it...

: : : Even if I manage to get to the configuration menu (by pressing tab repeatedly) And change the skin, path, settings, whatever... As soon as I save it, the program searches for all the roms... And then crashes with the 380 error.

: : : I've tried it on two different systems... Totally different hardware. In fact the only common link between teh two is that they're both running win98 second edition... Is there anyone here running win98 S.E. that has been able to get this to run??

: : : Bluepoint

: :
: : : : One more patch for you guys.... this will take care of the 380 errors as well....
