t-moulding when using laminate and MDF

Hi, I'm running into a problem where my 3/4" MDF + home depot laminate used for my control panel are wider than my 3/4" t-moulding, but less wide than 7/8" t-moulding.. are there any clever workarounds, perhaps sources for thinner laminate?

I could slightly bevel the edge of the mdf, but I would think the laminate would not adhere correctly in the corners.

Has anyone had success with trimming t-moulding?
