: I've got some MDF and some Lexan, which I want to lay together to form the top of the control panel for my cabinet. I'm not sure the best way to do it though...

: I want to design the layout of the controls, then cut the necessary holes in the MDF and Lexan. What is the best way to do this? Do I need to design (draw) the layout twice, once on the MDF and once on the Lexan, or is there an easier/better way to do this? (for example, is it a good idea to stick the mdf and lexan together first then I just need to draw the "cutout" design once?

: Any help is appreciated! :)

What you gotta do is cut out the design in the MDF. Then put all the holes in it. Next you clamp the lexan to the MDF and cut it to size VERY slowly with a jigsaw. Then for the holes just make sure the lexan is still clamped to the wood and turn the wood upsidedown and stick the drill in each hold and cut the lexan. Its best to clamp another peice of wood to the lexan so its sandwhiched between 2 peices to prevent it from cracking.
