If your rom does not match the 'officialy supported' one MAME will warn you on startup. If you don't get that warning, then there is probably a bug in MAME itself. I'm guessing that not many people test for 8+ hours. Try submitting the problem to mametesters.

: I have a Centipede cabinet that I like to keep Centipede running on, but one of two things always happens after like 8 hours:

: 1- things speed up to double time, both in demo and play mode
: 2- the sound quits

: I'm running DOS Mame, not sure of the Mame version # but could find out if someone thinks it might be important.

: Anyone have any tips? This totally messes up my cabinet.
