Oh I'm well aware of how 9x works.

But have you ever tried to run an old version of dos from within win? It does work, in 9x at least because I've tried it.... But the thing is you have to open a command prompt and load the command.com into memory from within it. Since 2000/xp has an emulated command line, I don't know if it could handle such functions.

: I don't think you can do that since DOS is an operating system, not just a program you can copy to or install in Windows XP. Windows Me/9x run on top of DOS.
: I guess we'll have to wait for the problem to be fixed.
: It's not a big deal to me though, as I don't plan to flash it that often.
: Those who do can always run the DOS bootable disk and do it from there.

: Thanks for the answers.

: : Win me and below still had "true" dos right? Would it be possible to copy dos from 98 and run it within 2000/xp by running commamd.com in 98 comp mode? Wierd I know, but hey, it could work.
