No, Unfortunatly Melamine is already bonded to the sheet stock, what you probably need is a vertical grade of laminate, any local cabinet shop can order it for you, or any lumber yard for that matter, some of the big home centers have un-helpful salesmen that simply say they can't get it, so if you run into that try a home town lumber yard, Brand names are Formica, WilsonArt, Pionite & Nevamar, all very similar, whichever was cheapest is the one I would use for your application, verticle grade is a little thinner than standard grade (very adequate) and usually cheaper if they have it in your color (black is a popular verticle grade color) Expect to pay anywhere from
$1.25 a sq ft to $2 a square ft. There are standard sizes as well, and many cut sizes smallest is usually 3x4 up to 5x12, Good Luck Matt

: I'm not building a cab from scratch, but reitting an pre-made one. Since the sides are kind of rough, I've been looking for an alternative to sanding-filling-sanding-priming-painting. Is melamine available in sheets that one can apply to cabinets?
