Bubba,

I tried to have them move the spinner, But They said they have the woodwork made by some master carpenter and that changing the design would take alot of time and cost me more.

They also said that their wiring harness is set to one configuration, So it would be more time consuming to do it ;(,

The only thing I wanted to add was, And I may do it myself is a couple of Pinball buttons, And they do have two locations free on the I-PAC to install two more buttons.

Please note:

I don't know if you know this or not, I did not know this, They have programmed some extra buttons which make using mame much easier, You don't even need to use the keyboard anymore.

the 1 player button is set to "Shift" If you hold down and press another key you get other keyboard inputs such as:

1 player + 2 player = ESCape
1 player + Left Joystick to the left = TAB
1 player + left Joystick to the right = Enter

When A game starts for the first time and you need to press OK, you can push the joystick to the left for the "O" and right for the "K"

With these few combinations you can program Mame much easier, and you don't need a keyboard.

: Yeah I see your point about the spinner. Still looks like the 4-way is in a real bad place. I wonder if they'd consider changing the layout or getting rid of the 4-way.

: : I was worrying about the same thing, But I haven't had any problems yet, Since my main reason for buying a "Controller" was for Tempest. If you look closely at my pictures, There's room for your wrist and forearms to lay flat around the trackball, whether your right handed or left.

: : Las

: : : When using the spinner or the 4-way stick, it looks like your arm has to lay across other buttons. Not only does it not look comfortable, it seems like it could screw up playing some of the games. Is this a problem? I kind of like laying my arm down and relaxing so I was worried about this.

: : : : Hail All!,

: : : : I just wanted to say a few words about the controller I just bought, It is a SlikStik, And it's my 1st controller. The story starts this way.... As many of you I recieved a cd from a friend who said I think you'll like this. He said it was something called Mame, I was like what's that?, And he told me and i could'nt wait to get home and try it, Damn!, I was hooked, I started playing Tempest (when I was 12 I probally put like $1000.00 in quarters in that game), But and this was a BIG BUT, how the hell can I play tempest with a keyboard???, So I asked my friend and he told me people make their own controllers, He told me that the controller for Tempest was called a Spinner (I didnt even know what it was called).

: : : : So, I started searching, I found Kelsey from Oscar Controls and he helped me out with many questions, He gave me many links to various sites like to X-Arcade, and SlikStik.

: : : : I wanted a Spinner and that's all, But I started looking, I was considering getting an X-Arcade and having Kelsey install a Spinner, That was gonna cost me like $280, But I wanted to try to squeeze a track ball on that too, But that was not possible, So I started looking around and I found the SlikStik.

: : : : So I ordered the SlikStik, Let me say , this controller is huge!, it's 35" wide, 17" deep and 4.5" in the back and 3.5" up front, It must weigh like 30lbs, It has player 1 and two buttons, Green coin buttons, And a Black Pause button, They use an I-PAC and programming is easy with the I-PAC Ultility (Usually you never need to use the I-PACUltility program, you just need to program Mame to the buttons on the SlikStik)

: : : : As of today I have been using my SlikStik for about 7 days and Mame for about 1 month, I was not familliar with Programming buttons with the SlikStik and Mame and I wound up screwing up the whole configuration, So I called tech support and they stayed on the phone with me untill the settings were corrected.

: : : : I'm really happy I went with the SlikStik, If you have any questions for me about it please feel free to email me.

: : : : Thanks for your time,
