Basically, it would be the same as wiring the controls you used for your mame interface, but you'd be wiring it to the harness. I believe the original MK is JAMMA, the standard harness type, but I'm not sure. In addition, there will be a monitor hookup. I'm assuming you kept the original arcade monitor, so that won't be a problem.

Another thing that would be interesting would be to see if you can rig a switch to change between your mame PC and the MK3 board... fun stuff. :)

A question I have for you... I have been trying FOREVER to try to get a MK/MK3 control panel template, because I want my new control panel to have that same button layout. Could you PRETTY PLEASE take a close up picture of one joystick + buttons so I can figure out the spacing? You'd be my friend forever... :)

: I've converted my cabinet into a MAME machine, but I've left the original wiring intact inside the cabinet. I want to purchase an MK3 PCB with sound board and wiring harness to go in there, but I have no idea what to hook it to(the cabinet is an original Mortal Kombat). There is, I believe, an auxillary harness(?) that is connected to the control panel with a black box(power supply) sitting in the bottom. I will take pictures of the cabinet tomorow and post them on here for you to see to give you an idea of what it looks like. From a quick inspection, I believe that I'm going to need some new wires to attach to some of the buttons inside of it. Some of the buttons have wires attached to them, but others dont. The joysticks have no wires running to them. Basically, I need someone to give me a general rundown of the types of wires used inside an arcade cabinet. I'm not looking for an indepth write up of every wire; just what type of wires are used inside the cabinet. I am going to purchase some parts from Happs but I have no idea what I'll need. If it is too much to post here, then a link to a guide on Midway cabinets would be fine. Thanks for any help you can give me.
