Not at all - I just bought an ATI manufactured card, and love it. Until now, I had no idea they were selling the chipsets to other companies. I realized this is a common practice, but the ebay sellers seem to either not know the difference, or wish to cover it up.
Same goes with other chipsets. You have to watch auctions closely.
: Hope this doesn't ruin your ATI experience. My last two cards have been ATI and I have absolutely no complaints.
