I still say a SB AWE 64. Its the last isa sound card sold by CreativeLabs. It has great dos support in case you ever want a true DOS emulator to use it.

Anyway, after that, I don't think it makes a scrap of difference in any of the others. Because the lowests, crappiest soundcards (in todays standards) can handle 44k emulation sound code. IE, it can handle the best sound coming from an emulator.

So go with simple, or go with cool for PC games with surround sound ect.
