I had the same idea as StephenH here. I labeled a button as "select new game" and hacked it to the enter button. Then inside Mame I changed the "cancel UI" to enter also. (Make sure you switch the "select UI" to another button!) This way people can press one button to start the game and to drop back to the menu to select another one. I did it this way because I wanted as few buttons as possible on the panel.

I also like the idea of using an unlikely simultaneous combination of buttons. I did this in able to access things like the "UI menu" (default is tab) and for "F2".

: I don't have a cab, but my idea was to label the button "Game Select", "Menu" or something like that. The Playchoice-10, Mega Tech, Mega Play, Nintendo Super System, and the like had these buttons to quit a game, and change games!
