From what you have said it doesn't seem so much like the frontend is crashing as it is hanging. This implies that the child process hasn't truly ended, so the front-end is still waiting. When it happens, try hitting ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the task manager and then kill the batch file if it is present. That should return you to the front end.

If that is the case then perhaps your batch file isn't set to exit when it finishes running?

: Justin,

: Thanks, I'm more concerned on the fact that EmuWizard is crashing when I exit Gens. I don't blame this on Gens, it's some sort of Emuwizard/Gens combo. Still, I'd like to see his BAT file to see if he's doing anything else. I'm also curious if it's a Win98 only thing, so if he IS using Win98 and it's working, I know it must be something else.

: As for the remap, I don't have the ability with my encoder (it's just a hotrod se) so I need some sort of software way to remap (or having it available in Gens). I'm having this problem with tons of emulators, what I'd love to be able to do is have a 1-2 key combo or another key that I can designate that would send an EXIT command to an emulator (whatever command that might be). Sometimes it sucks not having a hardware keybaord encoder that you can remap to!

: Thanks,

: Brad

: : I'll ask him today, but I believe he does the same thing as you (i.e. map alt-f4 to a button). AFAIK it works fine on his machine which is also Win98.

: : I can look into adding a remappable exit key, but I don't have much development time these days.
