: So i'm really intersted in building a Mame/emualtor cabinet. However i have one question that i'd like answered before i start. If you use a keyboard encoder to operate the buttons and joysticks, do fighting games respond as they would i nteh arcade (ie rotate stick 1/4 and press fierce to throw a fireball. Or are there problems doing this because the computer isnt accustomed to taking that many commands at once? What about any 2 player problems? Thanx for any help

John, go check out the I-PAC at www.ultimarc.com. Not only is does it come configured for the keys used by MAME, but it doesn't have the matrix concerns of some other (non-arcade-cabinet-dedicated) keyboard encoders.

And, I bet you can't find a good encoder cheaper than the I-PAC. I've bought one, and can't imagine using something else. I'm sure others on this board would agree...
