I too had sticker shock when I looked at the flight yoke on Happ's site.

:
: Here's some replies to the suggestions/questions:

: Incidentally do you know whether a stronger spring is available for the Super joystick?

: Niether the Happ Controls website or catalog list an alternate spring for the Super. However, I don't why you couldn't order the heavy spring for the Competition and just put that in the Super. The Competition spring has about a 1/16" longer free length which means using it in the Super will precompress it more. I just tried it with mine, and the additional precompression is not enough to bring the adjacent coils into contact with each other. I haven't tried this with the heavy Comp spring, though, but I speculate that it would be okay.

: It would be useful if you could provide some information about how easy it is to mount the three joysticks in different thickness panels e.g. metal or plywood.

: As far as the three joysticks I reviewed are concernced, they all mount to a control panel in exactly the same way: a hole for the joystick shaft, and then just screw down the base to the control panel. There really isn't enough difference between them mounting-wise to comment about. If I'm missing something here, or don't understand your comment, please let me know.

:
: And lastly, JM... sure, just send me a flight yoke and I'll be happy to write a review for it. I promise to send it back! :o)

: (notice the "L" in my fight yoke...) ;)
