HotrodSE and I-Pac

I purchased a HotrodSE a few months back. Then I discovered this web site. When I saw that you could buy iii and iiii (3/4 player) buttons from happ controls, I knew I had to build myself an add-on joystick for 4 player games. Luckily, earlier that day I had spilt water on my keyboard, and had to buy a new one anyway, so I ordered parts, and built a joystick with a keyboard hack.

The joystick I built works perfectly for two players, even daisy-chained through the HotRod. However, when I actually use both joysticks at the same time (4 players at once), I ran into a problem that meant that it wasn't going to work.

The problem was that when certain buttons are pressed together on both joysticks, the computer gets stuck thinking that a key is pressed, and doesn't let go.

My question is this: Has anyone had any experience daisy-chaining a 2nd joystick with the HotRod, or know why it would or wouldn't run into this same problem if I were to use an I-Pac instead of a keyboard hack?

Thanks a lot!
