Circuit Connection Question

Sorry for the remedial question, but I'm hooking my control panel up to a KE-72. What I'm having trouble with is connecting the buttons to the encoder. Where do I run the ground for each switch? I thought each button only had one input that goes to the KE-72, but it looks like there are two? What am I missing.
